Pub Process
OUR FOUR STAGE APPROACH...
Our Publishing Process
DeeClare It! Publishers & Village Mart supplies a full range of services that carry titles from concept to finished product and help to establish authors in the marketplace. Our publishing process is segmented into four main stages with customizable service level options and support. Each stage of our publishing process contains phases that provide a more hands-on approach as well as added support. A robust menu of a la carte options is also available to tailor each literary project to best suit client needs and desired outcomes.

Four Phases
- Consultations help to develop a story outline, table of contents, pinpoint the main character or narrator, assign character roles, and determine book category and genre.
- Coaching sessions assist with plot buildout — development and maturation — and provide assessment and advisement in preparation for the editorial phase.
- Reviews are performed on all completed manuscripts to determine grade of editing suggestions.
- Editorial is offered at three service tiers to accommodate any level of writing experience.
- Proofreading is performed once the full editorial process is completed.
- Storyboarding assesses cover and storyline to create conceptual visuals for the illustrator.
- Illustrations are available with a wide range of types and styles based on literary style and genre.
- Cover Design includes a full book layout and design of front, back, and spine where applicable.
- Typesetting & Layout formats the internal layout of the manuscript in preparation for publication.
- ISBN & Barcode registers the title and assigns a unique International Standard Book Number.
- Final Review of cover and manuscript is performed by the client for final approval.
- File Prep prepares and finalizes the approved files for print prep and submission.
- Print Accounts are prepared for each author and title and managed by our publication team.
- File Submission is executed consistent with print requirements for review to ensure proper setup.
- Electronic Proofs allow the publisher to address any major file errors prior to hard-proof printing.
- Printed Proofs are sent to both the author and publisher for a final thorough review.
- Print Release & Delivery is the final step. The order is released for full print and shipped to author.
