Bullying is a universal problem that has become very prevalent specifically among very young children.
The Girl and the Bookbag is a story about a young girl, Sarah, who experienced bullying at the hands of a group of students from her school. Sarah faced several cruel and embarrassing incidents where she was teased, laughed at, tripped and made to fall down. The need to escape the constant torture sent Sarah to the school’s library where she enjoyed stories about warrior princesses, where the characters were much friendlier than her own schoolmates.
During an outing to the mall with her parents and brother in the hopes of helping Sarah cope with being bullied at school, she spies a bookbag that ironically becomes the instrument Sarah uses to discover her own inward courage and bravery to confront her bullies.
