Danita E. Matthews is a mother, entrepreneur, and active Girl Scout leader. An avid writer, she was inspired to chronicle the events of her daughter’s life into an easy-reader in hopes of encouraging parent-child reading.

The Adventures of Chelsea B. is Danita Matthews’ first published work. She creatively illustrates valuable life lessons and captures encounters by bringing to life her own parenting experiences with her daughter, affectionately known as Chelsea B.

Danita devoted numerous hours of her spare time as a volunteer with Literacy Connections, a charitable organization devoted to providing basic literacy education for adults and literacy support and enrichment for children, located in Poughkeepsie, NY.

She also spearheaded a writing group and newsletter for a residential treatment center in Yonkers, NY. Mrs. Matthews holds a degree in journalism and lives in New York state.
